The Juris® Users International Group is an Association consisting of current users of Juris® from LexisNexis software which is the leading billing and accounting solution for mid-size law firms in the United States. Our purpose is to share knowledge relating to changes within the legal industry in order to operate efficient and profitable administrative operations and to promote an exchange of ideas between members and Juris® from LexisNexis.

In 1986 a small company was founded by Tom Collins, Doyle Clark, Rick Wild and Lee Ann Herron named Juris®, Inc. In October of that year a group of around 80 Juris® users met on a Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee. Thus Juris® Users International Group was born. They drafted Bylaws, elected officers, and decided to have a meeting once a year in the fall for users all over the world could come together and share ideas with one another and Juris®, Inc. Each year in October members from all over the world came together in Nashville to learn new ways to utilize Juris® in the everyday jobs. Members could interact with each other and also the Juris® staff. It was nice to put a face with the support person you talked to over the year and also talk with the developers of the software to learn what new features the software would have in the next release. The JUIG annual conference was two days of sessions covering issues the members suggested. The JUIG Board of directors would meet in February and using the previous year's conference evaluations, would develop the conference sessions. When we were just starting out, members would lead the sessions however when the software became sophisticated, the Juris® personnel became the session leaders with members helping in each session.

In 2007 Juris®, Inc sold to LexisNexis. JUIG continued the conferences until 2009 when with the downturn of the economy, it was not financially feasible for JUIG to put on the conference so it was decided to merge with the LexisNexis Practice Management Conference. JUIG is the only organized users group of all the LexisNexis software. We look forward to the future and exploring our new partnership with LexisNexis.
